Perseids meteor shower of 2016

This Perseids meteor shower with a ZHRmax 150 during the August 11-12 night it was a fantastic show even with the presence of the moon. The viewing location was El Cerro del Hierro in the Northern Sierra of Seville in southern Spain, the moon disappeared from sight at about 2 am giving us a wonderful dark sky. It was also possible to watch the ISS earlier on.

The stream of space debris causing this meteor shower is called the Perseid cloud, which originates from the comet Swift–Tuttle, stretches approximately 0.1 astronomical units (AU) across and 0.8 AU along composed of particles ejected by the comet as it travels on its 133-year orbit.

Lluvia de estrellas de las Perseidas 2016

Esta lluvia de estrellas con un THZ max (Rango Cenital por Hora) de 150 durante la noche del 11 al 12 de agosto fue un magnífico espectáculo, incluso con la presencia de la luna. El lugar para la observación fue el Cerro del Hierro en la Sierra Norte de Sevilla en el Sur de España, la luna desapareció vista a eso de las 2 am regalándonos un maravilloso cielo oscuro. También fue posible ver a la EEI temprano en la noche.

El rastro de fragmentos espaciales que causan esta lluvia de estrellas se llama la Nube Perseida y que se origina gracias al Cometa Swift–Tuttle, se extiende aproximadamente de 0,1 a 0,8 unidades astronómicas (AU) estando compuesta de partículas expulsadas por el cometa en su órbita la cual dura 133 años.
