The Sky in July / El Cielo en Julio
This July we can enjoy great views of Mars and Saturn,
they will display a fine contrast of appearance in the sky, and in the morning
sky we can see Mercury and Venus as well shining brightly low in the east
before sunrise.
Jupiter will be 5° above the west-northwestern horizon
about 30 minutes after sunset, quite bright with a magnitude of –1.8, which is
why it will be well visible despite the low altitude. Eventually the Giant
gaseous planets will disappear from view after July’s first few evenings
Mars appears in the southwest once the darkness settles
in and it will be very close to Spica, the brightest star in the constellation
of Virgo and it shines at magnitude 0.0, also Saturn is very close by in the
constellation of Libra.
This month too will bring a meteor shower, the
Southern Delta Aquariids, do not expect huge numbers but nevertheless you can
see at to 15 to 20 per hour at maximum on the 29 and 30th of July.

Este mes podemos
disfrutar de bellas vistas de Marte y Saturno, los cuales mostraran un
interesante contraste en apariencia, y en los cielos de la mañana podemos ver
Mercurio y Venus también brillando bajo en el cielo del Este antes del
amanecer.
Júpiter estará
5° por encima del horizonte noroccidental unos 30 minutos antes de la puesta de
sol, muy brillante con una magnitud de -1,8, y que es el motivo por el cual es
bastante visible a pesar de la baja altitud. Eventualmente el planeta gigante gaseoso
desaparecerá de la vista después de las primeras tardes de Julio.
Marte de
muestra en el suroeste una vez la comienza la oscuridad y estará muy cerca de
Spica, la estrella más brillante de la constelación de Virgo, brillando a una magnitud de 0,0, también Saturno
estará cerca en la constelación de Libra.
Este mes también
nos traerá una lluvia de estrellas, la Austral de Delta Aquariids, no de
grandes números pero no obstante se puede esperar de 15 a 20 por hora en su máxima
plenitud en el 29 y 30 de Julio.
