Delta Aquarid Meteor Shower / Lluvia de Estrellas Delta Acuarida
Watch out tomorrow for the Delta Aquarid meteor shower for it may be better this year than the famous Perseid meteor shower in August. Why is this so? The main reason for it is that this year we will have better conditions for observation under a moonless sky on the night of the 29th of July, which will make it ideal. The Delta Aquarids are officially active from July 12 to August 23, and it favours observers in Southern latitudes of the Northern Hemisphere and also the observers of the Southern skies.
The shower is produced by the impact of Earth´s atmosphere slamming into clouds of sand-grain-size particles left by an orbiting comet tail periodically when we encounter them every year heating the atmosphere at 150 000 kilometre per hour, burning up and leaving the streak of light which we call falling star.

Atento mañana a la lluvia de estrellas de Delta Aquaridas porque podría ser este año mejor que la famosa Lluvia de las Perseidas en Agosto. ¿Porque es esto así? El principal motivo es que este año tendremos mejores condiciones de observación bajo un cielo sin Luna en la noche del 29 de Julio, lo cual lo hace ideal. La Delta Acuarida está oficialmente activa desde el 12 de Julio hasta el 23 de Agosto, y favorece a los observadores de latitud Sur del Hemisferio Sur además de los observadores de los cielos del Sur.
La lluvia de estrellas es producida por el impacto de la atmosfera terrestre chocando contra nubes de material del tamaño de granos de arena dejados por la cola de un cometa en órbita periódicamente cuando nos encontramos con estas impactando a 150 000 kilómetros por hora, quemándose y dejando la estela de luz que llamamos estrella fugaz.
