Mercury, Venus and Mars on the December evening skies

Throughout December 2016, three of the rocky planets, Mars Venus and Mercury can be seen in the evening skies, in fact one could draw an imaginary line from Mars through Venus pointing in the direction of Mercury. 

However, there is a problem and that is the fact that Mercury might have set already by the time Mars becomes fairly visible, and also the difficulty in seen the fastest and most inner planet for it lies very close to the horizon.

Every day, Mercury climbs upward to reach its greatest evening elongation in the evening sky on December 10, the day this photograph was taken, in Alcalá de Gudaíra, been this celestial object observable for about half an hour.
