NASA's Hubble Telescope confirms the presence of a dark vortex in the atmosphere of Neptune

NASA's Hubble Space Telescope has obtained new images of Neptune which confirms the presence of a dark vortex in its atmosphere. When NASA's spacecraft Voyager 2 did a fly by the distant planet Neptune in 1989, astronomers were stunned to see such a gaping, dark hole at southern latitudes in the giant planet's cyan-colored atmosphere.
This dark spot later disappeared, however the Hubble Space Telescope was able to captured a new northern dark spot of comparable size back in 1994, and now it has been able to capture another new dark spot on May 16, 2016. This spot would span the width of the continental United States. The dark vortex is a high-pressure system where the flow of ambient air is perturbed and diverted upward over the vortex.

El telescopio espacial Hubble de la NASA ha obtenido nuevas imágenes de Neptuno que confirman la presencia de un vórtice en su atmosfera. Cuando la nave espacial de la NASA Voyager 2 realizo un sobrevuelo del distante planeta Neptuno en 1989, los astrónomos se sorprendieron de ver tal hueco oscuro en las latitudes sureñas del gigante planeta con atmosfera color cian.
Este punto oscuro desaparecería después, sin embargo, el telescopio espacial Hubble pudo capturar un nuevo parche oscuro al norte de un tamaño comparable al anterior en 1994, y ahora ha podido capturar otro de nuevo el 16 de mayo de 2016. Este punto seria en anchura del tamaño de los Estados Unidos de América. Esta turbulencia es un sistema de alta presión en donde el flujo del aire ambiental es perturbado y dirigido hacia arriba por encima de dicho vórtice.
