The Perseid Meteor Shower of 2018

Once more the stargazers of the northern hemisphere were gifted with a magnificent spectacle on the night of the 12 to the 13 of August. Although the window of the particular meteor shower is from July 17 to August 24. 

The location for the observation was in Fuente del Arco, Badajoz at 38ºNorth and 6ºWest, very close to the Seville province near the Northern Range, a site with a radiance of 0.23 x 10-9 watt/cm2 *sr. 

The maximum rate of meteors expected to be visible for this site was around of 80 per hour Zenithal hourly rate (ZHR) assuming a perfectly dark sky and that the radiant of the meteor shower is directly overhead. In practice, however the number of meteors is likely to be less.
