An eclipse will darken the full moon this 11th of February

On the night of 11th of February there will be a penumbral lunar eclipse, this first fool moon of February, called the snow moon, will bring us the first of the eclipses in 2017, a penumbral lunar eclipse which will be the number 59 of the 71 eclipses of the Saros Cycle 114. 

Even if it won´t be spectacular, there is the circumstance that this is a rare event of a penumbral lunar eclipse, since it is a total penumbral lunar eclipse, the whole moon disk is darkened inside the penumbra. The part of the disk closer to the shadow will be much darker than the rest.

This will commence on the 10th at 22h 34 m Universal Time (UT) finishing on the 11th at2h 53m (UT). The moon will be between the constellations of Leo and Cancer. The next eclipse will be the total Solar Eclipse of the United States on August.
